Has your business outgrown its premises, but you are loathe to move? Do you yearn for an injection of style and design, but are keen to keep the cost down?
Many businesses, especially in the hospitality industry, could benefit from additional space during peak periods but are put off the idea of an extension because of the cost involved.
Here at Dual Glaze Services Ltd, Essex’s leading provider of conservatories and windows, we are frequently approached by business owners desperate for that little bit of space.
In our experience restaurant businesses, cafes, hotels, spas and even pubs often require more room for additional tables.
Conservatories are strongly associated with domestic properties and as a result they are often overlooked by businesses wanting to expand floor space. But by their very nature, however, conservatories are an ideal environment to eat, unwind or relax because they are flooded with light and can benefit from all year round sun.
Creating a bespoke conservatory for your business is going to be significantly quicker than building a brick-built, pitched roof extension. This is obviously a major advantage for businesses which need to keep noise and inconvenience to a minimum and also start receiving profit from their investment as soon as possible.
With most conservatories, you won’t even need to apply for planning permission which will again speed up the time you can start using your new addition.
Another option for that expanding business that we offer at Dual Glaze Services, are the very popular Bi-fold doors. Bi-fold doors are simple folding doors which fold in or out to open up a space and allow you wider openings to your conservatory, patio, garden or swimming pool. They are becoming hugely popular in restaurants as well as homes for their modern, aesthetic appearance and also because of their ability to open up a room to the outside.
Here at Dual Glaze Services Ltd we offer an extensive range of conservatory styles and finishes and an array of folding door designs and can provide professional advice on which product will best suit your needs.

A new survey has shown that UK householders consider energy efficiency when selecting products for home improvements.
The poll, carried out by Epwin, proved that consumers are interested in the ‘quantifiable’ elements of sustainability – those that offer financial payback, such as reducing energy bills. This was illustrated in the attitudes of those questioned about the purchase of new windows and doors.

Here at Dual Glaze, our windows and doors will help contain and conserve heat within your home by keeping out wind and rain, resisting condensation and allowing the natural warmth of the sun to heat your home.
All of our energy efficient glass is fully-energy rated by the BFRC – the UK’s national system for rating the energy efficiency of windows. Window energy ratings use a traffic light system of A through to E which allows consumers to make an informed choice about the energy efficiency of windows you are buying. The higher the energy rating, the more energy efficient the product is.
Here at Dual Glaze we offer A, B or C rated windows to allow consumers to make an informed choice about the energy performance of the product they choose.
Jim Rawson, chairman of the Epwin Group who carried out the survey, said: “People are feeling the pinch of austerity. Energy efficiency – something that could be converted into an immediately quantifiable financial return in lower fuel bills – remained a significant influence when people chose their products for home improvements.”
It is estimated by the Energy Saving Trust that you save about £135 per year on your bills by replacing all your single glazed windows with energy efficient glazing.
So what’s the delay? Our experts here at Dual Glaze can offer you advice on a wide range of glazing products to help cut your energy bills. Contact us on 01268 330521.

Here at Dual Glaze Services Ltd, Billericay’s leading conservatory and windows specialists, all of our windows are rated by their energy efficiency.
If your home is single-glazed or your double-glazing was installed prior to April 2002 then you could be losing more heat than necessary, and therefore money, literally out of your window. However, by switching to Energy Efficient Windows you can save energy and reduce your household bills.
We’re told that by installing Energy Efficient Windows you could reduce the energy you use by 18%. Add to this simple energy saving measures – such as insulating your home and turning down the central heating by 1% – and you could be making a real impact on reducing your carbon footprint.
The efficiency of our windows are rated using a traffic light system, which can often be quite confusing for consumers. .
Here is an explanation of the ratings system, which will hopefully simplify things and clear up any confusion.
The traffic-light system used for rating windows is rather like that used for ‘white-goods’ such as fridges and washing machines. Rating levels range from the most effective ‘A’ rating through to ‘G’ rating.
The rating tells us about the product as an insulator, so ‘A’ rated windows are better insulators than ‘B’ rated windows, and ‘B’ rated windows are better insulators than ‘C’ rated windows etc.
A higher rated window will also help with the reduction of condensation, for the simple reason that the better a window is at insulating, the warmer it will keep the inside pane, thus reducing the area that would draw moisture from the air and materialises as condensation.
All windows with a rating of A – C are considered good insulators and are recommended by the Energy Saving Trust.
Here at Dual Glaze our windows can be made from a range of frame material – aluminium, PVC-U, steel or timber or even a combination of materials.

With Prime Minister David Cameron waging war on utility companies, there has been plenty in the news recently about the steep hikes in winter energy bills.
All of the big utilities announced price increases between June and September this year, with the average annual energy bill forecast to reach £1,293 next month. This is a rise of 117% since 2004.
The price hike has been blamed on the wholesale price of gas increasing but this will provide little comfort to the millions of us who are already watching our wallets.
Here at Dual Glaze Services Ltd, Billericay’s leading windows and conservatories specialist, we don’t want you to think twice when you adjust your thermostat. We can offer you peace of mind when it comes to saving you money.
We offer a range of energy efficient glazing products which will reduce your energy bills and keep your home warmer, for longer.
According to the Energy Saving Trust you could save about £135 per year on your bills by replacing all your single glazed windows with energy efficient glazing.

This initial investment will be worthwhile when you notice a considerable drop in energy bills, plus you’ll also be doing your bit to reduce your carbon footprint.
All of our energy efficient glass is fully-energy rates by the BFRC – the UK’s national system for rating the energy efficiency of windows. It is recognised within building regulations as a way of showing compliance for your replacement windows installation.
Window energy ratings use a traffic light system of A through to E which allows consumers to make an informed choice about the energy efficiency of the windows you are buying. The higher the energy rating, the more energy efficient the product is.

With the onslaught of wet weather, many of us will consider how best to wash our windows.
Here at Dual Glaze Services Ltd, Billericay’s leading windows and conservatories specialist, we are often asked for advice on the best window cleaning care. Our first advice would be to call in an expert if you are attempting to tackle high windows or those on the roof of your conservatory.
Windows look best if they are cleaned on a regular basis, at least twice a year on the inside and outside.
Here are some useful techniques for cleaning windows:
1) It’s best if you wash your windows on a cloudy day, because direct sunlight dries cleaning solutions before you can polish the glass properly.
2) Wash windows from the top down to prevent drips.
3) Use a soft toothbrush or cotton swab to clean corners.
4) To give an extra shine to window glass, polish it with well-washed cotton T-shirts or old cloth.
5) Polish windows to a sparkling shine with crumpled newspaper. The paper also leaves a film that’s resistant to dirt.
6) Finally remember to wash away any window cleaner because it could harm the paint or varnish.
When it comes to cleaning your conservatory roof, things can become a bit tricky. Again, here at Dual Glaze we recommend you call in the experts if you don’t fancy the risk of climbing a step ladder. In general it is recommended to use a water-fed pole while standing on a step ladder to clean your conservatory roof. These can be found in larger homeware stores. If you can’t get hold of one of these a soft bristle long handled brush with do the trick, and you will be able to rinse off with a garden hose.

Secondary glazing means inserting a second pane of glass in or on to an existing window frame. It’s an alternative to retrofitting new double-glazed windows, especially for old wooden houses.
There is little doubt that secondary glazing adds immeasurable benefits to your property. Here are some of these:
* Secondary glazing can save you money
Single glazed windows are notoriously poor at any insulation. The single glass panel transfers cold very easily reducing the temperature inside, which means you need to keep your heating on for longer. Up to 18% of heat in an uninsulated house is lost through windows. Secondary glazing will reduce heat loss and will undoubtedly save you money on your heating bills. The cavity formed between the prime and secondary windows is an effective thermal insulator. And by burning less fuel, you will also be lessening the CO2 footprint of your property. Therefore doing your ‘bit’ to help save the planet. It’s a win win!
* Secondary glazing can improve safety and security
Secondary glazing offers a level of safety and security that traditional windows cannot match. Here at Dual Glaze Services Ltd our units come with toughened glass reducing the chance of shattering. You can also choose high security window frames and locking systems which will make it a great deal harder for intruders to gain entry to your home.
* Secondary glazing can reduce condensation and block out outside noise
Your new windows will help reduce damp in your home by reducing condensation. The double panes will also block out a significant amount of noise which is handy if you live near a busy road. If you require extra sound proofing, you can consider a different thickness of glass to the existing glass. Here at Dual Glaze we also offer a new generation of acoustic laminated glass.
At Dual Glaze we offer a comprehensive range of secondary glazing styles for every home. These include Lift Outs, Vertical Sliders, Hinged Units and Horizontal Sliders, Balanced Vertical Sliders and Tilt-in Balanced Vertical Sliders.
If you are interested in a quotation, we will need widths x heights x style (two panel vertical slider, three panel horizontal slider, hinged unit etc).

On the contrary! A cleverly designed, well-styled conservatory is the perfect room for relaxing, dining and entertaining in every season – even those darker months ahead.
Here at Dual Glaze Services Ltd, Billericay’s leading windows and conservatories specialist, we can help you make the most of your conservatory all the year round.
In general, painting your conservatory in trans-seasonal colours, opting for the right blinds and installing sufficient heating can help you create a year-round space that is light and airy during spring and summer, yet can easily make the transition to warm and cosy during autumn and winter.
A certain degree of the design and decorating of your Dual Glaze conservatory will depend on the purpose of your extra room. Whether you decide on creating a games room or a dining room this will have an impact on your colour palette.
However, using neutral colours can create a calming effect, such as duck egg or biscuit shades, whatever the purpose of the room. These will keep the room light and airy in the summer and add a touch of warmth in winter.
Conservatory blinds can also extend the usage of your conservatory. Blinds have to cope with extreme temperatures and UV rays, as well as offering style, privacy and light control.
Lastly – but perhaps most importantly – is sufficient heating. Conservatories, by their glass nature, lose heat easily and it is important you look at installing the right heating system to ensure you can continue to use your room throughout winter.
Here at Billericay’s Dual Glaze Services Ltd we have seen the popularity of
under floor heating soar in recent years and it is not difficult to see why.
Electric under floor heating is a great option for conservatories because it keeps heat low down and minimises loss through the roof space.
Here at Dual Glaze Services Ltd we offer an extensive range of conservatory styles, finishes and can provide professional advice on which product best suites your needs. For more information on how we can revitalise your home call 01268 330521.
There comes a time in all our lives where we simply outgrow our homes.
Whether this is because of a growing family or the desire for more space, many families are left with two options – move out or extend.

Deciding on a Dual Glaze conservatory would undoubtedly give you the extra room you crave, without the unnecessary stress and costly burden of moving house.
And financially it’s a win win situation. Not only will a new Dual Glaze conservatory save your pennies, but it will also add to the value of your home.
According to the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) adding a conservatory to your home can increase its value by as much as 5%. Other research shows that by the time you come to selling your property, you will recoup the full cost of building the conservatory in the first place which makes it a well worthwhile venture. A conservatory is more than just an investment to the overall value of your house, and it’s much more than just an extra room. It will offer you a space, which is part home, part garden to enjoy in all weathers and climates, with a plethora of uses.
A Dual Glaze conservatory would act as an ideal playroom for your growing youngsters or an additional den/TV for those older children, desperate for space of their own.
